Overlocking differs from simple carpet edging: the machine wraps thread continuously around the cut pile and backing, locking fibres in place. That is what turns a leftover remnant from a lounge renovation into a durable hallway runner or shaped doormat. I trim the edge square, select yarn that matches or contrasts with your carpet, and serge rounded corners or L-shaped layouts as needed.
